DiscoverReady Appoints Maureen O’Neill as Vice President of Discovery Strategy and Bay Area Marketplace Leader

NEW YORK – September 9, 2010 – Continuing on its plan of sustained growth and expansion, DiscoverReady LLC, a leading provider of outsourced discovery management and fixed-fee document review services to Fortune 500 companies and their counsel, today announced the appointment of Maureen O’Neill as Vice President of Discovery Strategy and marketplace leader for the San Francisco Bay Area, signifying the company’s deeper expansion in the region.

In addition to overseeing all DiscoverReady operations for the region, O’Neill is also responsible for leading the company’s Employment Practice Group. With an extensive background in all aspects of employment law, and particular expertise in discovery matters in complex litigation, she will play a critical role in consulting with clients and their counsel on discovery strategy and best practices.  O’Neill reports to DiscoverReady Chief Operating Officer John Ritter.

Prior to joining DiscoverReady, O’Neill was at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, co-chairing the firm’s national E-Discovery Practice Group.  As a partner, she was also actively practicing in the area of employment litigation. Her client base included Fortune 100 and multinational companies in technology, pharmaceuticals, communications, entertainment, and retail. There she led teams of attorneys defending various employment claims, with a focus on defending class and collective action litigation.

While participating in all aspects of legal proceedings, O’Neill’s particular expertise developed in managing the document discovery process in complex, multi-party litigation. She has counseled clients on various e-discovery issues, such as identifying and inventorying sources of electronic information, drafting legal hold notices, and developing protocols for document collection, review, and production.

O’Neill graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law and received her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Miami.  She actively participates in the Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production.
